Tilicho Lake is one of the world's highest lakes, lying at approximately 4,919 metres on a high ledge above the Marsyangdi Valley, accessible as a side trip from the Annapurna Circuit near Manang. The lake's surface is typically frozen from December through March and reflects the surrounding peaks and perpetual snow fields in clear weather. The approach from Manang involves crossing a steep scree trail exposed to rock fall, requiring careful route-finding. The lake's isolation and elevation give it a raw, otherworldly quality distinct from more-visited Himalayan water bodies.
