Samcheong-dong is a historic quarter in central Seoul running north from the royal palaces toward the wooded slopes of Bugaksan. Its main street and side lanes blend restored hanok courtyard houses with galleries, tea rooms and boutiques, forming one of the city's most atmospheric neighbourhoods. The district borders the traditional Bukchon area and holds small museums and craft shops within old timber buildings. Visitors climb the gently rising streets past stone walls and low tiled roofs.
