The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, known as klpac, opened in 2005 within Sentul Park and is a leading independent venue for contemporary theatre and the arts in Malaysia. Built partly within a restored colonial-era railway workshop, it contains several performance spaces and rehearsal studios set in a landscaped park with a lake. It stages plays, musicals, dance and experimental work, and nurtures local theatre companies and training programmes.
