The Palais Epstein is an ornate nineteenth-century mansion on Vienna's Ringstrasse, adjoining the parliament building and used for its administrative and educational functions. Designed by Theophil Hansen, the same architect responsible for the neighbouring parliament, it displays a richly detailed Renaissance Revival facade. The building has served many purposes, from private residence to school board offices, and has been carefully restored. Today it houses a visitor and education centre, with historic reception rooms seen on guided tours.
