Wellington Regional Stadium

This circular multi-purpose stadium near Wellington's railway station, commonly known by its long-running sponsorship name, hosts rugby, cricket, football and major concerts. Opened in 2000, its steep circular bowl and open design earned it the local nickname the Cake Tin for its resemblance to a baking pan. It is the home ground of regional rugby and football teams and regularly stages international fixtures. A footbridge links it directly to the transport hub, and the venue seats tens of thousands for large events.
