Córdoba's city hall is a landmark of mid-twentieth-century modern architecture, a bold reinforced-concrete building raised on pillars near the banks of the Suquía River. Completed in the 1960s, its rationalist forms and civic plaza marked a departure from the colonial architecture of the old centre. The building houses the offices of the municipal government and its deliberative council. Its clean geometry and elevated massing make it a notable example of the era's public architecture in the interior of Argentina.
