Designed by the French-Argentine landscape architect Charles Thays and opened at the end of the nineteenth century, this large public park crowns the Nueva Córdoba district. Its rose garden, artificial lakes, monumental staircases and shaded avenues follow a formal European layout adapted to the local climate. The park also contains a zoo and space for open-air recreation. As the green lung of the city, it draws walkers, cyclists and families and offers wide views over the surrounding neighbourhoods.
