This early-twentieth-century park in central Lima is best known for the Magic Water Circuit, a series of illuminated, choreographed fountains that hold a Guinness record for the largest fountain complex in a public park. By day the grounds offer landscaped gardens, monuments and shaded walkways; after dark, water jets rise dozens of meters and glow in shifting colors set to music. Opened in 1929 and revitalized in 2007, the park is a popular family destination. Some fountains invite visitors to walk through tunnels of water.
