Parque Explora is an interactive science centre and aquarium in northern Medellín, recognisable by its cluster of angular red buildings near the botanical garden. Opened in 2008, it presents hands-on exhibits on physics, biology and technology, a planetarium and one of South America's larger freshwater aquariums featuring Amazonian species. The complex forms part of a cultural cluster linked to the metro. It draws families and school groups and has become a landmark of Medellín's investment in public education.
