This picturesque alley in Puebla's historic centre is lined with antique shops, art galleries and cafes set in colourful colonial houses. On weekends the surrounding streets host a lively flea market where dealers sell furniture, curios, coins and bric-a-brac to browsers and collectors. The name, meaning Alley of the Toads, recalls the frogs that once gathered in a nearby flooded lane. Its cobbles, wrought-iron balconies and painted facades make it one of the most atmospheric corners of the city for an unhurried wander.
