Set in two adjoining colonial buildings in the historic centre, this private museum is among the most important in Puebla, presenting pre-Hispanic and colonial Mexican art in beautifully designed galleries. Its collection ranges from Olmec, Maya and Aztec sculpture to religious paintings, silver and furniture of the viceregal period. A rooftop terrace offers views over the tiled domes of nearby churches and toward the volcanoes. Careful curation and temporary exhibitions have made it a cultural anchor for the city.
