Neptune Theatre is the principal professional playhouse of Halifax and one of the leading regional theatres in Atlantic Canada, founded in the early 1960s in a converted downtown cinema. It stages a full season of drama, comedy and musicals across two performance spaces. Over its history it has premiered many Canadian works and nurtured actors who went on to national careers. The theatre anchors the city's live-performance scene near the historic Grand Parade in the centre of town.
