Christ Church Cathedral is the Anglican cathedral of Vancouver, a Gothic Revival sandstone church completed in the early 1890s and the oldest surviving church in the downtown core. Its exposed timber roof, stained-glass windows and quiet nave provide a contemplative space amid the surrounding glass towers. Once threatened with demolition, it was saved and later expanded with a modern bell spire and underground hall. The cathedral hosts concerts and services in the heart of the financial district.
