Kensington Market is a bohemian downtown neighbourhood in Toronto, a national historic site known for its narrow streets of Victorian houses turned into eclectic shops. Successive waves of immigrants left their mark on its produce stalls, vintage clothing stores, cheese shops and cafés reflecting cuisines from around the world. On summer weekends the streets close to cars for pedestrian festivals filled with music. Its colourful, informal character makes it one of the most distinctive quarters in the city.
