Café Hafa is a terraced clifftop café on the western edge of Tangier, established in the early twentieth century and celebrated for its tiered garden of stone terraces stepping down toward the sea. Famous as a haunt of writers, musicians and artists over the decades, it serves mint tea to visitors who come chiefly for the sweeping view across the Strait of Gibraltar toward Spain. Whitewashed benches and low tables scatter across the levels. More an institution than a refreshment stop, it is a cultural landmark.
