Housed in a former political figure's riverside villa in the Giza area, this museum holds an important collection of nineteenth- and early twentieth-century European art assembled by a wealthy Egyptian collector and his wife. Works by leading Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters hang alongside sculpture, ceramics and decorative arts in elegant domestic rooms. It is regarded as one of the finest collections of Western painting in the region.
