Occupying a restored Ottoman anchor foundry and shipyard on the Golden Horn, this is Turkey's leading museum of industry, transport and communications. Its collections range across vintage cars, steam engines, aircraft, a submarine moored outside and an entire historic ferry, alongside scientific instruments and models. Founded by the industrialist whose family name it bears, it favours hands-on exhibits for families and engineers. The waterside campus links several heritage buildings, pairing old architecture with the machine age.
