A tiny medieval chapel in central Yerevan, the oldest surviving church in the city, dated to the 13th century by an inscription found during its rediscovery. It came to light in the 1930s when a larger 17th-century church around it was demolished, revealing the small stone core within. Set in a quiet courtyard alongside a newer cathedral built beside it, the chapel is decorated with carved crosses and inscriptions on its walls. Its unexpected survival amid the modern city makes it a poignant link to Yerevan's deeper past.
