Green Bazaar, Almaty

Almaty's best-known covered market, where stalls overflow with fruit, dried apricots, horse-meat sausages, spices, honey and mountains of nuts. Housed in a large hall near the city centre, it has long been a hub of daily commerce and a place to sample local produce and Central Asian delicacies.
