Braga Street

Braga Street is a historic thoroughfare in central Bandung that flourished in the early twentieth century as a fashionable promenade lined with European shops, cafes and cinemas, earning the city its reputation as the Paris of Java. Many of its Art Deco and colonial buildings survive, their facades now housing galleries, restaurants and boutiques along the cobbled way. Once a place where colonial society paraded, the street retains a nostalgic atmosphere, especially in the evening when its old lamps light the frontages.
