This riverside temple in the Sathon area is best known for an unusual masonry structure shaped like a Chinese junk, built in the reign of King Rama III to commemorate the trading vessels that were vital to the kingdom's commerce before steamships. Two small chedis rise from the deck of the stylised ship, which visitors can climb for a closer look. Founded in the Ayutthaya period and later elevated to royal status, the temple sits close to the river near a busy transit pier, blending everyday worship with a distinctive maritime monument.
