A large natural-history collection housed since 2015 in a nautilus-shaped building beside Jing'an Sculpture Park, its spiraling green wall inspired by the chambered shell. Galleries trace the origins of life, the evolution of dinosaurs and the diversity of world ecosystems, with mounted skeletons, dioramas and a living wetland. The institution descends from older Shanghai museums whose specimens are over a century old. Families move through themed halls on rivers, grasslands and civilizations, pausing at animatronic dinosaurs.
