Waibaidu Bridge, also known as the Garden Bridge, is a steel truss bridge spanning Suzhou Creek near its junction with the Huangpu River in Shanghai. Completed in 1908, it was the first all-steel bridge in the city and an early example of camelback truss engineering in China. For decades it carried trams, cars and pedestrians at the northern edge of the Bund. Visitors photograph its riveted spans against the waterfront skyline, and the structure was fully dismantled, restored and reinstalled in 2009 to preserve its original ironwork.
