This grand classical mansion crowning a hill in central Yekaterinburg is one of the finest surviving early-nineteenth-century estates in the Urals, built for a wealthy mining and merchant family. Its long colonnaded facades enclose courtyards and overlook a landscaped park with a picturesque lake, rotunda and grotto on the slope below. The estate later passed through public uses and now serves educational functions, while the park stays open. Facing the Church on the Blood, it forms a notable imperial-era ensemble.
