This grandiose government building near the Kazan Kremlin houses the republic's agriculture ministry and has become an unexpected sightseeing draw for its lavish neoclassical facade. Completed in the 2010s, it centres on a monumental arch containing a large illuminated bronze tree that glows after dark. Though the interior is not generally open, the surrounding Palace Square and riverside embankment offer clear views of the ornate columns and sculpted detail. It sits within walking distance of the fortress and riverbank.
