This pedestrianised thoroughfare runs through the historic core of Kazan and serves as the city's main promenade for strolling, shopping and street performance. Lined with restored merchant houses, fountains and cafés, it links the Kremlin district toward the central squares and passes the bell tower of the Epiphany Cathedral. Bronze sculptures, including a carriage and a figure of the Kazan cat, punctuate the route. Named after the revolutionary Nikolai Bauman, born in the city, it stays lively into the evening.
