The Boim Chapel is a small but extraordinarily ornate mausoleum built in the early seventeenth century beside the cathedral in Lviv's old market district. Its blackened stone facade is carved from top to bottom with dense reliefs of biblical scenes, saints and figures of the merchant family that commissioned it. The interior, capped by a small dome, is equally crowded with sculpture. Regarded as one of the finest examples of Mannerist funerary art in the region.
