The largest green space in the Albanian capital, this park spreads across the southern edge of the city around an artificial lake created in the mid-20th century. Wooded paths wind among pines and Mediterranean trees, passing sports facilities, memorials and an open-air amphitheatre. On the hillside above the water stands the Church of Saint Procopius, a small historic chapel. The lakeside promenade is a favourite for walking, jogging and rowing, and the park hosts festivals and outdoor events.
