The Resurrection of Christ Cathedral is the principal Orthodox church of Albania and among the largest in the Balkans, consecrated in 2012 in central Tirana. Its design combines a broad central dome rising more than thirty metres with a freestanding bell tower and a chapel commemorating the nation's Orthodox history. The complex includes the residence of the archbishop and administrative offices of the autocephalous church. Built after the collapse of the officially atheist communist state.
