Mimara Museum

The Mimara Museum occupies a monumental neo-Renaissance former school building facing Roosevelt Square in central Zagreb. It grew from the wide-ranging private collection assembled by Ante Topić Mimara, encompassing paintings attributed to European masters, ancient glass, ivories, textiles, and objects drawn from many civilisations. The sheer breadth gives the museum an encyclopedic character unusual for the city. Its galleries surround a skylit interior court, and questions over attributions have added intrigue to its reputation.
