The Bundeshaus is the seat of the Swiss federal government and the Federal Assembly, standing above the Aare on Bundesplatz in central Bern. Completed in 1902, its domed central block joins two older wings in a heavy neo-Renaissance style faced in green Alpine molasse stone. Inside, the cupola hall carries mosaics and a stained-glass ceiling representing the cantons. Visitors can join guided tours of the chambers when parliament is not sitting, and in autumn a light-and-sound show is projected onto the facade after dark.
