This debating chamber on Cardiff Bay is the home of the Welsh Parliament and one of the most prominent modern public buildings in Wales. Designed by Richard Rogers and opened in 2006, it features a sweeping timber roof, a wind cowl for ventilation and extensive use of Welsh slate and glass to signal openness. Visitors can watch proceedings from a public gallery or explore exhibitions on the workings of devolution. Its transparent façade and waterfront steps make it a focal point of the regenerated bay.
