The Grant Museum of Zoology at University College London is the last surviving university zoological museum in the capital, packed with skeletons, preserved specimens and taxidermy across a single richly atmospheric room. Founded in 1828 as a teaching collection, it displays around sixty-eight thousand specimens including the bones of extinct animals such as the quagga and the dodo. A celebrated jar of preserved moles draws curious visitors. Its dense Victorian cabinets delight those interested in natural history.
