All Souls, Langham Place, is a distinctive church at the top of Regent Street in central London, designed by John Nash and completed in 1824 as part of his grand scheme for the street. Its unusual circular portico ringed with columns and topped by a needle-like spire was created to close the vista and turn the awkward bend in the road. Badly damaged in the Second World War and restored, it is now well known as a centre of evangelical worship and as a frequent recording venue for the BBC, whose headquarters stand next door.
