A landmark multi-story castle tower rising above a large public park in central Osaka, originally constructed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the 1580s and rebuilt in its current reinforced-concrete form in 1931. The surrounding moats, massive stone ramparts, and plum and cherry orchards make the park a popular destination across seasons. The tower's observation deck provides a panoramic view over the city's dense urban fabric.
