A year-round oasis wadi fed by permanent springs draining the eastern Hajar range, Wadi Bani Khalid is one of the few wadis in Oman where swimming is possible throughout the year rather than seasonally. Its pools are a clear blue-green, set beneath layered sandstone cliffs and shaded by overhanging palms. Small fish visible in the shallows feed on the spring-fed current, and the wadi floor opens into a broad gravel plain lined with cultivated date gardens.
