A naturally occurring karst sinkhole roughly 50 metres wide and 20 metres deep located just off the coastal highway between Muscat and Sur, Bimmah collapsed when an underground limestone cavity breached the surface, exposing a pool of mineral-rich water coloured a vivid aquamarine. Small fish inhabit the pool, which can be reached by a staircase from the surrounding park. The contrast of brilliant blue water against white limestone walls makes the site one of the most photographed geological features on Oman's coast.
