Zurich is Switzerland's largest city, situated at the northern end of Lake Zurich where the Limmat River exits the lake. The old town on both banks of the Limmat contains Romanesque and Gothic churches including the Grossmünster and Fraumünster, and the Bahnhofstrasse is among the world's most expensive commercial streets. The lakefront and the Lindenhügel hill above the old town provide framed views of the Alps on clear days.
