The Federal Chancellery is the office of the German Chancellor, a bold modern building completed in 2001 within Berlin's government quarter beside the River Spree. Designed by Axel Schultes and Charlotte Frank, its cubic white form with round openings has earned it playful nicknames. The complex forms part of the symbolic ribbon of federal buildings spanning the city's former divide. Visitors can view the striking exterior and the large public sculpture on its forecourt, while interior access is offered on occasional government open days.
