An art gallery on the wooded Djurgården island, built as the private villa of the banker Ernest Thiel. The mansion houses his collection of Nordic art from around 1900, including major works by Edvard Munch, Carl Larsson and Anders Zorn. The intimate rooms and their original hang reflect a personal, discerning taste. A sculpture garden and views over the water complete the setting. The gallery preserves a rare glimpse of turn-of-the-century Scandinavian collecting and design.
