Rosendal Palace is a small royal summer residence on Stockholm's Djurgården island, built in the early nineteenth century in a restrained Empire style for the first king of the current royal house. Its intimate rooms preserve furnishings, textiles and decorative objects typical of the period, offering a glimpse of court life on a domestic scale. Guided summer tours provide the only access to the interiors, set apart from the busier attractions nearby.
