This cultural complex near the riverfront gathers a group of restored colonial and early republican houses around courtyards in the historic centre of Asunción. The oldest dwelling dates to the eighteenth century, making the block one of the city's most important surviving heritage ensembles. The buildings now hold exhibition spaces, a library, a café and a viewpoint over the nearby government palace. The site illustrates the evolution of urban domestic architecture and hosts cultural events throughout the year.
