This balustraded promenade on Cerro Alegre in Valparaíso offers a sweeping balcony view over the port, the bay and the tiered houses spilling down the hills. Named for the Croatian immigrant community that prospered in the city, it fronts the ornate Palacio Baburizza, a belle-époque mansion now serving as a fine arts museum. Café terraces and viewpoints line the walkway. The promenade lies within the UNESCO-listed historic quarter and exemplifies the mix of immigrant wealth and dramatic topography that shaped the port's distinctive character.
