The sanctuary on Guadalupe hill crowns one of the two peaks overlooking Bogotá, distinguished by a large statue of the Virgin gazing over the city. Standing at greater height than neighbouring Monserrate, it offers panoramic views across the Andean plateau and the dense urban grid below. Pilgrims and visitors reach it by road, and the site holds religious significance alongside its role as a viewpoint. Its white monument is visible from much of the eastern city, marking the skyline together with its better-known neighbour.
