The Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá, known as MAMBO, is a leading venue for modern and contemporary art in the capital, sitting near the international centre downtown. Its concrete building, designed by architect Rogelio Salmona, houses rotating exhibitions of Colombian and international painting, sculpture, photography and film. The permanent collection spans much of twentieth-century Latin American art. Alongside galleries, the museum runs a cinema, workshops and an art library, forming a hub of the city's contemporary scene.
