The Roman Catholic cathedral of the Haitian capital, a pink-and-white Romanesque-revival church consecrated in 1928 with twin bell towers and a large rose window. It was the seat of the archdiocese and a landmark of the downtown skyline until the 2010 earthquake reduced much of it to ruins, killing the archbishop. The surviving facade and towers stand as a memorial while reconstruction is planned. Even in its damaged state the structure remains one of the most recognisable religious monuments in Port-au-Prince.
