The largest urban park in San Jose, La Sabana occupies the grounds of the capital's former international airport on the city's western edge. Its wide lawns, lagoon, running tracks and sports fields make it the favourite outdoor space for residents. The national stadium and the Museum of Costa Rican Art stand at its edges. Shaded by tall trees and dotted with sculptures, the park hosts festivals, concerts and weekend recreation for families throughout the year.
