This pair of tall neoclassical arches spans a major avenue near the Minerva roundabout and serves as a symbolic western gateway to Guadalajara. Built in the 1940s in cream-coloured stone, the twin structures are joined by a bridge and adorned with a painted mural and a coat of arms. A viewing gallery inside once allowed visitors to look out over the boulevard below. Illuminated at night, the arches frame the traffic passing between them and have become one of the recognisable civic landmarks of the Jalisco capital.
