Dalnavert is a meticulously preserved Victorian house museum in central Winnipeg, built in 1895 for a son of Canada's first prime minister who himself became a provincial premier. The Queen Anne Revival mansion is notable for early modern conveniences, including central heating and indoor plumbing rare for its time. Furnished with period pieces, its rooms evoke the comfortable life of an affluent late nineteenth-century family. Guided tours interpret both the household and the social history of the era.
