Devoted almost entirely to a single Abstract Expressionist painter, this Denver museum holds the vast majority of Clyfford Still's surviving output, sealed away for decades under the artist's will until the city agreed to build a dedicated home. The concrete building, opened in 2011, filters daylight through a perforated ceiling into quiet upper galleries. Rotating displays trace Still's shift from figurative work to his signature jagged fields of color.
